Towage is all about combined forces. We need to push and pull. We need power and control. It is important to innovate, but also trust on proven technology. Our tugs are powered by horsepower, but above all powered by people. Experienced crew and young talents. There is no leadership without expertise. No tug without qualified crew.
Our versatile fleet of around 81 powerful tugs, operating in Europe, demonstrates our commitment to our customers’ needs and local authorities. As we choose the right tug for the right port, we operate several tug types, like Stern-drive tugs, Z-peller tugs, Voith Schneider, Rotortugs and hybrid (Rotor)tugs.

COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
HYBRID TUGS
Our most tangible commitment to the environment and emissions reduction are our three hybrid tug boats VB Kracht, RT Evolution and RT Emotion. Thanks to their batteries and electric motors, these tugs are sailing very efficiently and eco-friendly, delivering fuel-savings and optimizing working conditions for the crew.
IMO TIER-III
In January 2020, we became the world's first towage provider to successfully retrofit the tugboat Union Koala to comply with Tier III standards. In December 2020, two newbuild Damen tugs VB Bolero and VB Rumba, both complying with IMO TIER III regulations have been added to the fleet.
